What colour contrasting ribbon on a navy top?

I have a much loved old t-shirt from GAP which laces up at the back with white ribbon tied in a long bow at the top.

Top is still fine but ribbon is showing its age and gone a bit grey so I'm going to replace it with something from local habadashers. Shall I stick with brilliant white or go for something more interesting? Any suggestions?
