I have a formal dinner dance thing next weekend - dress code “smart - blazer and tie for men, evening wear for ladies”. Have some lovely and appropriate dresses in my wardrobe but none of them fit me at present! I’m 47, 5’3 (so struggle with very long dresses) and a big size 12. Big boobs which can look matronly in the wrong dress, and carrying weight on my tummy. I do have a decent waist.
Pics attached of the only two current options I have, neither of which feel quite right. Black dress I bought to try but looks clunkier on me than on the website model 😆 and more “party” than “evening wear”. Blue dress I love but I think is a bit too “wedding guest” (which is what it was bought for).
Please throw suggestions at me - budget up to about £100. Thank you!
