What to wear with these chinos?

I've just got these chinos and bought them with the dark grey zipped top actually pictured on the site, but the top looks funny on me tucked in and I seem to be between sizes, so that is going back.

I have some wedge black heels that I can wear with these. Would flats work sometimes too though, if so which? I can't wear heels that often.

What about tops/colours? I'm apparently a classic summer (sometimes cool summer but deffo a summer) based on colourwiseme. I basically want to get away from wearing only with dark grey/black!

Ps I am trying to get some more trousers in my wardrobe for both casual and smart. My usual "style" is dresses or tunic/leggings, occasionally jeans.
I want some other trousers and these do fit me quite well, I think it's the colour I'm maybe struggling with though (and I know they come in other colours but this one is quite nice slight khaki but also grey tones)
