Please help me find a stylish cabin-sized travel bag

I would love a bag that could fit a laptop, toiletries and a change of clothes in it for work trips… but stylish. If it’s carry-on size for aircraft I’d be delighted!

Can you point me in the direction of such a wonder? Please and thank you.

Have you tried Knomo?

ChocAuVin · 28/04/2023 23:32

I have not! <Wombles off to google>

They must be good — practically every style is sold out Hmm

Have a look at the Longchamp Le pliage range. Various sizes and styles.

That Smythson is glorious! Was hoping to spend more like up to £300 than £1.5k although appreciate it would be ab investment

I am seeing Le Pliage everywhere at the moment! Do love, though.

I have one of these. Fits my laptop and other devices, toiletries, and a change of clothes. I even take some extra shoes in it. Bit pricey but looks fabulous!

This is what I need!

Sorry!! Yep, definitely an investment buy. I just came back from Australia with mine and did 10 flights in 20 days with it and it still looks immaculate. And was the perfect carry-on.

@ChocAuVin I also have one of these in grey that I used to use as a carry-on for work trips. It unzips to fold flat so quite handy. It looks very stylish (the photos on the website are terrible! I bought mine in person in their Porto shop) but has no padding/pockets etc inside. A more budget solution - and more stylish / less ubiquitous than Le Pliage.

That’s lovely! Like that it’s more structured.

@HundredMilesAnHour I love that! Are the straps long enough to carry it over your shoulder?

Fluffypuppy1 · 29/04/2023 09:22

Try Briggs and Riley. They have loads of great options. We have bought the widemouth cabin spinners. They’re brilliant for quickly getting iPads and toiletries out at security, and finding what you need when on the plane. I did initially try a Le Pliage bag, but found it to be like one huge cavern and I couldn’t find what I wanted quickly when needed. The cabin spinners have four wheels so you walk them slightly in front of you, rather than pulling them behind.

I've got a Brics holdall very similar to this which is 3 years old and still looks brand new despite many trips away.

Would definitely fit the size you need but maybe less structured than you're looking for?

When I used to have to fly for a few days for work, I'd use one of these as it was easier than lugging round a bag, and I could easily take it in the cabin

@Almahart The Smythson one, yes! The Burel one, I don't think so unless you have very slim shoulders/arms. I just hook it in the crook of my elbow as it's so light (or on top of my wheelie case).

BudgetTraveller · 04/05/2023 20:33

It depends on the size of carry on. If you're looking for a larger size of carry on you could try the BAOSHA on Amazon (https://amzn.to/3Vy76gw) It has a nice little toiletry bag. Another one is (https://amzn.to/3pcCfKw) or (https://amzn.to/3pcCfKw) However again if you're travelling with free carry on it may not fit (such as Ryan air free carry on bags) However if its a paid for carry bag dimensions may be different.

These are really good BUDGET options.
Personally I love a good trip to TKMAXX, Zara, etc they always have good carry on type bags.

I went for the Nordace Comino Totepack after spending the last few weeks trying to find a bag that fit the bill. There's also the Siena version from the same brand but I didn't really like the look of it.
