Facial SPF for dodgy skin...

I have teenage skin (not the good bits) at nearly 40 - extremely prone to breaking out, oily, red etc. Also to top it off since my late 20's I now develop what I believe is hyper-pigmentation on my face by way of patches near my eyes but more obviously like a tache across my top lip after about day 3-4 of sunshine holiday exposure which is lovely.

I need a good quality face SPF rather than just putting body SPF on my face. I'm quite olive toned so not sensitive in that way but SPF stings my eyes and causes awful breakouts. It doesn't have to sit under make-up but bonus if it can nicely... not insane budget - maybe up to £30-£40? Is there anything I an do to avoid the hyper-pigmentation? Thanks very much :)

Ambre Solaire Anti-Age Super UV (spf 50) is brilliant for me, find it completely non-irritating and non- sticky.

BTW I had v similar skin complaints at just over 40, which have been almost totally solved by a few months of low-dose isotretinoin (20mg/day).

I've been trying the Nivea dark spot control one after a recommendation on here and I'm pretty impressed so far. Only one I've found that doesn't sting my eyes at all.

I find it a tiny bit too mattifying for my dry skin, but if you're oily that might not be a problem.

Your skin sounds exactly like mine (and I’m the same age as you!) After much trial and error I now use this from Kiehls. It’s SO good - goes on like a dream, non-greasy and a perfect base for make-up.

On the pigmentation front, I’ve had some luck with vitamin C serums.

Thanks very much for all your recommendations; I do have a few other kiehls products I like so might try that, although @WeRateSquirrels dark spot control also sounds good and literally everything stings my eyes, so might try a few of these and see how I get on!
