How to reduce facial swelling

I somehow managed to get cellulitis on my head. Thankfully it seems to be on the mend (after a trip to a&e and some very strong antibiotics), but it's left my face super puffy, especially under my eyes. The doctor said this is normal, but can anyone recommend any methods to help it go away? I look like I've been in a fight and it's quite embarrassing! Thanks!

(Nb I didn't actually have the cellulitis under my eyes, so the skin there isn't damaged, just puffy)

I've had this twice in the last three months. Totally randomly and nobody knows why. Isn't it painful?

No helpful advice really I'm afraid apart from that the swelling did go down over the course of a week or so (albeit leaving a couple of numb/overly sensitive patches). Have you had antibiotics?

@Mallowmarshmallow oh you poor thing! Yes, it is horrible! Thankfully NHS were good (and quick) - IV antibiotics in a&e and then sent home with v high dose oral ones.

My doctor also commented that it was "weird". The only cause she could think of was that my daughter has impetigo 🤷

Really hope you (or I!) don't get it again!
