Wedding Dress Guest Advice please

I am attending a wedding in June. I really want to wear a special dress - I never go out and get dressed up and live in leggings! I've been looking for ages and I have found a few dresses I love.
I am a bit unsure and would like some help deciding and would really like your help. I'm a size 16 - I think the style would be flattering. I love the black Lucy Dress - is it ok to wear black to a wedding? Also would the pencil skirt be better or a full skirt for my size?Lucy Dress Valerie Dress

Personally i think they are both lovely but I don't think either are suitable for a wedding. What kind of venue is the wedding at?

I love them both. Would def wear Valerie to a wedding.

Lucy feels a little corporate to me, you would really have to jazz that one up with accessories.

Valerie is on the more casual side, but still lovely for a wedding.

In terms of wedding colours I consider the following off limits.

white/cream - the brides colour
black - a colour of mourning, so therefore not suitable for a celebration
red - not that serious, but historically has been code for "I'm the grooms mistress"

I really love the Valerie dress, gorgeous, I'm a sucker for hats so would wear a little pill box with it.

The “Valerie” is lovely especially in blue or the yellow if they are colours that suits you. Real “Mad Men” appeal. Do you like scarves? A little jaunty short neck tie scarf might be fun and fit the vibe.
