trying to make myself look a bit more presentable and as my hair dryer has packed up today I’d really appreciate some recommendations!

id also like some straighteners, I used to have ghds when they were the go to brand - is that still the case?

I've got a Parlux hairdryer and love it - I've just checked where I got mine from as the price does seem to have shot up (I got mine in 2014 though and it's still going strong) I have the 3200 compact https://www.hqhair.com/health-beauty/brands/parlux.list?&affil=thgppc&kwds=43700005828839208&gclid=CKaOponE28ECFazItAodemAABQ&gclsrc=aw.ds and I've got Hershesons straighteners (they replaced my old GHDs) and I find these much more effective but I've just looked and they don't seem to sell them anymore unless they are just out of stock. They were around £100 but half price in a black Friday deal but I think they also regularly offer discount codes.

I have a Dyson hairdryer and I love it.

For straighteners I would recommend Cloud 9s

Ghd for both although the hair dryer feels heavy. I've used every brand, I hated cloud nine and always come back to ghd

I've got a parlux alyon at home and like it a lot. It's what my hairdresser has - I just bought what she told me to!

However, I mostly wash my hair at the gym and use the GHD ones they provide (I think the air model) but I prefer my home one as it's lighter and more powerful.

Gym has GHD straighteners that seem OK but I'm not a straighter afficiando.

I had the original GHDS 20 years ago and loved them. Switched to cloud 9 and loved them. Went back to ghd last year (platinum+) and hated them. Sold them and bought cloud 9 again. GHDS don't seem to get as hot as cloud 9, and my hair generally needs to be assaulted on a daily basis to comply 🤣. I have thick, coarse hair and they need a lot of heat.

Cloud 9 are also £40 cheaper.
