Navy trousers - what I am actually looking for?!

It's ages since I've bought trousers, I've lived in dresses in recent years. In my head I want some chinos, but the ones I've tried seem really wide & I'm looking for something tight.

I've just bought a pair that aren't perfect but the nearest I've found. They were from M&S & in the section that I think used to be called Classic. I'm a young 47 & wearing a range aimed at 70+ year olds 😀

What I really want is something like jeggings but in trouser material not denim. What am I actually after & where do I find them?!

I have limited shopping nearby - small M&S, one Next & that's about it, but will be in London in a fortnight...

These are the ones I've bought & this is pretty much the look I want (but am happy with something tighter on the leg)

They're quite good for the price, wash well and are comfortable - but nothing special - although I might not rate them highly because I wear them as part of a uniform.

if you search tailored joggers you might find something that fits what you are looking for ?

Have a look at 'cigarette' trousers, that's possibly the style you're after?
