Needs to be quite smart but also casual.

I have an SN DC who will be in the wedding party - DC wants to be in it and will cope with my support which is why I’m not a bridesmaid.

I’m a size 18/20, and hate my body so want it to feel nice and comfortable. I’m usually a leggings and baggy tops kind of girl.

I don’t mind subtle or small florals/flowers, but I had anything frilly or overly floral. I'd rather have shoulders and sleeves but don't mind if I have to pair it with a cardigan/smart jacket to keep warm.

I have about £150 to spend but can go above that for the right item.

Ideally bought online.

Do you have any colour preferences?

GoodChat · 23/04/2023 07:20

I think this might be a bit too busy for you but I think it'd look lovely with some plain accessories www.simplybe.co.uk/shop/p/wi358

Starter for ten. Autumnal colours. Sleeves and pockets.

This, this, this!

So gorgeous - and not flowery in the way you probably meant. It’s available in a size 18 - but their clothes do tend to sell out, so this is really just to suggest the brand. You may find something in the Summer sales or in the new Winter collection when it arrives.

Cynthia - Sage Constance Spry Dress

Our autumn/winter collection this year is focused around the collector. There is a fascination with collecting objects and revealing long-forgotten treasures. It’s all about the find, big or small, and how objects come together and create beautiful col...

(How about we don’t pretend £22 is a fair price for fabric, design and labour for a celebratory size 18 dress?)

The OP said she has a budget of around £150. That indicates the quality of dress she’s hoping to buy.

delilabell · 23/04/2023 08:56

Oh @CapaciousHag I am so sorry. I didn't realise that you were incharge of deciding what was appropriate for op and what wasn't.
I said something like this. We're all allowed to give our ideas

If I had a £150 budget I'd be buzzing to find something much cheaper.

I bought that Shein dress in green to wear as a wedding guest. What a mistake - it is thin, flimsy and like a dish rag and remai s unworn.

Lesson learned - even if it photographs beautifully on a website, if it's £22 then it will be that quality.

These Scarlet ad Jo dresses are so comfortable, so easy to be hands on with DC while wearing one.

I wore a floral one to a wedding, same size as you, and felt good in it.

I really like this one thank you

I like this sort of style, but will heed @IGoWalkingAfterMidnight s warning on it but its a really nice dress.

I really like this one thank you

Glad you like it! The have full length versions too, which I noticed after posting. If I went to another wedding, I’d wear a full length one with nice flats. The heels killed my feet last time!
