I'm going for minimal liquid so thinking
Bar soap
Shampoo bar
Stick foundation
Powder bronzer and blusher
Stick lipstick
Stick deodorant

Watching with interest!

Not exactly what you asked, but I decant a lot of my usual stuff into little pots when I travel. I can fit about thirty of them in the clear bag.

Need to be careful the lids aren’t on too tight though, as the pressure can seal them shut.

Mercedesbenz2022 · 20/04/2023 18:24

But u can have liquid 100ml per item
I decant too , it means you get your favourites

I stick to the things I can't buy flightside so would leave shampoo and soap out (then buy after security) and decant my premium skincare into small pots. I had my bag searched because the solid shampoo bar merited investigation, also my contact lens pods once.

Depending on length of time buy things at destination- saying that recently I went for a weekend to Amsterdam and both their and city had the new scanners so the who,e small bag and under 100ml was over

Buy beauty box from Sephora with minis

order click and collect from Boots for past security.

I’m using hard soap, shampoo bar, solid moisturiser and deodorant, not sure about toothpaste though. I tried tooth tablets before but didn’t get on with them. I’m looking for some other type of solid toothpaste.
Anyone know of any good solid lipsticks?

I take facial cleansing wipes instead of micellar water for removing my make up.

I save up the little free sachets of moisturiser etc that you get in magazines or elsewhere. If you're running out of space in your liquids bag the sachets squeeze in far more easily than a tub of moisturiser.

And I do most of the other things on your list too.

Decanting into bottles is fine, but I need enough of my preferred shampoo and conditioner to wash my hair daily, which fills up most of my liquids bag.

My other tip is when you have near empty deodorant sticks or cosmetics etc, to put them aside for taking on holiday. Then at the end of the holiday they can all go in the bin and my hand luggage is a little bit lighter/emptier.

I use whichever shower gel/body lotion the hotel has.

Sachet of shampoo/conditioner
Mini moisturiser
Mini make up remover
Mini mascara
Eyeliner
Eight hour cream
Cream highlighters
SPF

The rest isn't liquid.

I really rate Olay mini facial cloths - they are dry but foam up with water and I cut them in half as they're quite big.

Ooh yes. I’ve put the sachets outside our liquids bag for years and never had a prob

grayhairdontcare · 20/04/2023 20:40

@KeepScrapingBy I never knew that you could get stick moisturiser!
Could you recommend one?

This is nothing to do with beauty products, but it's a heads up. I say this as someone who is paranoid about what I put in my hand luggage when I'm flying, yet always get stopped.

My latest stop and search of hand luggage flagged up nothing - just served to delay and embarrass me. My husband pointed out that what was probably showing up on the screen was the magnetic strip closure on my glasses case, ie it showed as a long strip, [perhaps could be perceived as a blade?], on the x-ray screen. I hate the way you're automatically treated as a threat. My glasses case meant we almost missed the gate closure and I had to watch a man throwing my spare underwear/nightwear, etc around, after I'd carefully packed that case.

I find it reassuring that they are thorough and search through bags. It helps keep everyone safe.
I had my bag searched last time I flew, maybe because I didn’t have any liquids? Perhaps they thought I was hiding some? They pulled out my stick deodorant then put it back so all was well!
