Recently finished a bourjois foundation which i liked. Just wondered if anyone knows of a great foundation for 40-something skin. Thanks!

If you don't mind splashing out, I think Prescriptives is the best. Otherwise No 7 or Max Factor are both good (though the shades in max factor are a bit strange).

chanel > love the stuff
i think it is woth spening the money on foundation

Smithy · 15/02/2008 16:41

One step face base from Virgin Vie is nice.

chocolatespiders · 15/02/2008 16:43

the other thing is you liked the one you had then stick with it, unless you want a change

I love clarins foundation .... lasts for ages and easy to put on ...

SNOWBall4girlz · 15/02/2008 19:41

personally love Clinique perfectly real foundation not too gloopy on my 41 yr old lines and wrinkles

hercules1 · 16/02/2008 08:25

I used to swear by clinique but since just one of us working I now buy the Tescos own souffle which is a fraction of the cost and imvho much better.

Shiseido compact agrees with me (am 35)

I am 26 with combination skin that tends to be more at the oily end of the spectrum. I use Dior Diorskin PureLight foundation. Goes on like a dream, very subtle and quite sheer but lasts well

I used to use the Chanel Mat Lumiere (the raved about on here) but I found it gave me a funny sort of sweaty pallor rather than a dewy glow.

The Dior one is around £26 and the Chanel one (I have the compact version) was £28.

I use Estee Lauder visible effects. Feels really nice and goes on smoothly. I am 34. I use mine about 4 times a week and lasts me a year.

Use MAC. Only company that seems to match my skin tone so well. Expensive but one bottle goes a long way.
