If Velvet Teddy and Pillow Talk suit me, what else will?

Hi,

So I know these are two very popular lipstick shades from Mac and CT, but was still quite surprised they suited me, as I don't suit that many shades. Certainly can't get away with bold, vibrant colours. Have given up with trying to find 'my red'.

Anyway, I don't get to get into town (one big enough with large beauty counters anyway) very often, so I'm going off comparing swatches with my existing lipsticks.

I'm looking at Wedding Belles, Very Victoria and Supermodel, all CT. Concerned that Wedding Belles will be too similar to Pillow Talk, ie, basically the same, Very Victoria too brown and Supermodel too dark.

Any suggestions/recommendations?

Can't help you with CT but I wear Velvet Teddy a lot. I also like Twig, Brick o la and Mehr if you're looking for a bit 'more' but not vibrant

@lipstickwoman that's pretty much it, yeah. I'm pretty sure I tried Twig and Merhr and they were both a little too dark on me. I know they're not dark shades. It's me 😬

I think the Nars ones look good. Looks like it might not be very long lasting though.

Won’t last through eating but they’re matte and have a pretty good wear time.
Nars are quite long lasting.

Capricious (Mac) is nice, but use sparingly if you don't like too deep a colour. Pink plaid is also nice on me, and I wear velvet teddy too.

I wasn't that impressed with Pillow Talk (even though my daughter really suits it and we have similarish colouring).

Lisa Eldridge's Kitten Mischief is my go to now, also love her Velvet Petal (lightly pinker). She has a great range of nudes, long lasting and creamy. Muse, Affair & Intrigue off the top of my head might work?
