What to wear on a second date to a naice restaurant?

I have a date on Thursday that I’m really looking forward to, but I want to look amazing and am not sure what kind of thing to go for - I don’t go out much these days!

We are going to a nice restaurant - swanky but not Michelin star or anything - and I was thinking about a dress but because of changeable weather etc, wasn’t sure what kind of style. I also don’t want to look too “done”. I’m not explaining very well!

any suggestions? What would you wear? It’s with someone I’ve known for a long time so I’m not trying to make a particular impression I just want to look the best I possibly can. I’m medium height and pear shaped if that helps! And can no longer walk in all the super high heels I’ve got under the bed 🙈

If you're pear shaped do you have boobs that would allow you to go braless in a satin slip dress? Can dress down a bit with your choice of jacket/jumper and shoes, but still look pretty sexy.

I think the boobs would be okay but I don’t think I could pull off satin around the middle - especially when eating, unfortunately!

A black dress that highlights the positive parts of yr body.

Thank you! I think I have a quite plain black dress that’s fitted - I was T sure if it was a bit dated now though

Unless your date is with one of the good women of S&B, or is unusually into fashion, I'd pick something that you look and feel good in over avoiding looking 'dated' all day long. People on here worry about this a lot, but the typical man neither knows nor cares what a woman should be wearing this season. His focus will be on the woman herself, so all you need the clothes to do is showcase you. Plus a fitted black dress is pretty classic.

Thank you! I’ve relaxed a bit about it now so I think I’m just going to go with one of my midi dresses that I feel good in and do nice hair/make up and accessories rather than trying out a whole new look I’ll probably feel uncomfortable in!

A satin slip dress worn without a bra is way OTT.

Good luck with the date! Enjoy!
I'm partial to a shirt dress with flat boots.. always feel dressed but casual! Throw on a blazer, scarf and some jewellery.
I always think if your hair and nails are done, you feel much more confident.. treat yourself if you can!

A satin slip dress with no bra is called a nighty 😁
