please help me find a long-ish gold necklace

DH has asked what gift I'd like for my birthday. Only thing I can think of is a yellow gold necklace, about top of cleavage length (so maybe 18-20 inch?).
Possibly with a pendant, but not a stone/pearl or name or initial or locket.
I'm quite a dumpy frumpy 50+ year old. I've got loads of silver jewellery but fancy something in gold that I can wear with dresses and maybe over jumpers. So not anything too fine. But not too chunky either.

I tend to wear drop earrings or sometimes hoops.
I'm not a dress-up type of woman, but like to be presentable with simple and classic styles.
His budget will be pretty low (about £100, I guess) but I can add some to it if I find the right necklace.
Anyone know any good jewellery outlets or give me some ideas for what to look for?

I like buying on etsy but worry about spending £££ and ending up with something plated.

TBH I don't think your budget is high enough for even 9ct gold.

Go to a vintage jewellers or even a pawn broker type place and you might well get a lovely gold chain for that. I got a 16 inch gold chain for around £125 a couple of years ago and it was reasonable chunky (not a fine chain)

I was looking for the same, but if was £350+ for what I wanted.

I now have a gold filled chain for £35 😂. The gold and diamond pendant is tiny and from Liberty in the sale at £95. It came with a 9 ct gold chain, much too short and delicate for me so I swapped it out.

Yes, I'm sure you're right.

@Mouthfulofquiz second hand/vintage is a good shout.

Thanks for replying.

@Ohyay thank you! I'm loving this new moon necklace.

It's our wedding anniversary soon, so I'll ask for it as a joint gift.

The gold price is the gold proce. Second hand won't make a difference I don't think. They sell it based on weight and such a long chain will be much more than that. How do you feel about vermeil?
