How long "should" wide leg jeans be

Last time I wore them, they were worn very long, a pain becuase they were always wet around the bottom and frayed from dragging on the ground.

I like the style though and I suits me so I've been trying to buy a pair.

What's the right length? For example, these look too short to me, but maybe not if that's how they're being styled by the retailers?

Mine go slightly above my ankle.

I see these ankle length ones online but in real life everyone I see is wearing them long. Tbh the slightly shorter ones in your picture just look like she’s grown out of them, they’re neither full length or cropped. I wear mine to the floor and just put up with the wet hems.

Mumsnut · 17/04/2023 13:43

I would wear the ones above slightly shorter, or slightly longer.

I also have some very long ones I wear with stonkimg great platform shoes, when I want to look taller (ie, thinner)

BringMeTea · 17/04/2023 13:45

Either a bit shorter or longer than the ones shown as pp said.

Those look too short to me. I think trousers should cover the ankle when standing, but not go down over the heel.

Some of it is personal preference.

I like the length in the picture, or slightly more cropped. I can't do the wet hems that flapped against my ankles 20 ish years ago from long flares and long wide trousers. I like my trainers and want to see them. I also want to differentiate between me then and grown up me now.

For me the right length is longer than in the photo. Not touching the ground but perhaps only 1-2cm off.

They don't get wet and I benefit from
the optical illusion of leg lengthening. Love my wide legged jeans

I agree with this, cropped ok in the summer of wide leg but cropped flares just look silly.
