Please help me with my skincare routine and order

I really am going to make an improved effort with my skincare routine. I have tried a few products but never all together in a routine but I am confused about how and when to use. My skin is oily with pores that can clog and look big. I have researched and think the products I want to use are right for my skin. The things I want to use are:
Morning - cleanser, Dr Gross Skin Peel Pads then vitamin c serum, then spf.
Evening - cleanser, retinol and niacinamide serum

Is this right? And what order do I put on the retinol and niacinamide? Retinol is cream and niacinamide is serum.
I have also been using Paulas Choice BHA exfoliating toner. Should I drop this because I am using the Dr Dennis Gross peel pads?

Any help to prevent me looking like an oil slicked, open pored, middle aged dull skinned hag would be appreciated!

I would not be using bha/ahas and retinol together at first. You’re likely to end up damaging skin barrier.

actives should be used on cleansed skin. Niacinamide is not an active skin can go after retinol.

No moisturiser? I would even for oily skin. A gel type one. Especially if using actives.

Ok, so dont use the bha toner at first? Are the daily peels ok to use each morning? I have used these and am not sensitive to them but haven’t used them together with the other products.

So niacinamide serum after the retinol?

Moisturiser, not in the day as vit c serum and spf is enough otherwise I would be far too oily, but yes I will use at night, I forgot to add that above.

I would avoid retinol for now.

I would go for a gentle face wash in the morning followed by vitamin c serum and moisturiser with SPF.

In the evening I would double cleanse to remove make-up and SPF. Then use BHA exfoliate followed by a moisturising serum contains peptides and/or hyaluronic acid ant then a light night cream.

As your skin adjusts the routine then use your BHA in the morning before serum and introduce a retinol serum at night.

I do have a basic routine now, cleanse, tone, moisturise and/or vit c but want to introduce retinol and niacnamide into my routine. I also love the dr dennis gross peel pads so want to use those too because I have seen a difference with them.

Why would you recommend not using retinol yet @FancyFanny? I was only going to start on a low strength one a few times a week and build up. Do you think its too much?

@carlajayne I do have a basic routine but want to up the game a bit now! Do you think the order I have is ok?

Sorry, I thought you were just starting your routine. If your skin is good then go for the retinol too- start low. I'm always wary of retinol, I've been using it quite a few years and never got past once every other night at a low dose as I find it very irritating and am not really willing to go through the red scaly period. I'm not actually convinced it's good for skin long term- when she stop using it the effects don't seem to last.

Really? See it is all so confusing isn’t it and so many write ups say different things. I used to think the same, how can something be good for you if it causes redness and flakiness at first, but so many experts say retinol is one of the only things that work.
