Where to go sunglasses shopping (men)

DP recently had a birthday, and as well as bits and bobs to open on the day, I said his main present was that we would go sunglasses shopping for him together, and he could pick out a nice pair which I would pay for, up to maybe a couple of hundred quid (he's recently stopped needing to wear corrective glasses, so the whole new world of non-prescription sunglasses options is now open to him).

I've never really been into sunglasses other than the odd fashion pair picked up from a clothes shop or something, and he's always worn corrective glasses, sometimes with a reactive tint, so neither of us really knows where you go for this.

My nearest city has a Sunglass Hut, and I know opticians tend to carry a few pairs of non-prescription sunglasses, and various high street shops and supermarkets will have a stand with a few pairs of fashion sunglasses. But all this seems a bit… bitty, somehow? It's Sunglass Hut really the only option for a real-life in-person shop with decent-quality sunglasses and lots of different styles to try?

I don’t know where you are, but Harvey Nichols in Leeds has lots to try on, maybe Selfridges does too?

Oh sorry, yes, that would've been helpful. I'm in the Surrey/Hampshire area — technically, we could go into London, but it's years since we've done that as it's a bit much of an expense/hassle for most things.

Oakleys with online try-on and free returns?

Yes, online home try-on services might be worth doing, though I was hoping for more of a browsing in a shop with all the available options kind of experience. Thanks for the suggestion though, I'll look into it. He's never had proper sunglasses before so I kind of want something that arrays all the options in front of him in real life… Which I suppose is what Sunglass Hut is, but looking online at pictures of the shop, it's tiny! I know that sometimes, something that you wouldn't have looked twice at if it was in an online photo can catch your eye when you see it in person, and it ends up looking great on you.
