Advice re which hair styler to get

Hi there, I am a mum to young kids so don't have much time to do my hair but I really want to start making more effort. I have long, thick, blonde hair and would like to get something to be able to straighten it and also do lovely curls/waves sometimes which I see in other people and always looks great. What would anyone recommend please? Really want something that won't damage my hair, is fairly straight forward to use and doesn't take that long. I'm happy to spend more for something decent. Would straighteners or a styler of some kind be better? Thanks!

Straighteners will do all that - really easy to curl your hair with them or do beachy waves too

Thanks @ShirleyPhallus

If you don’t mind the price ghd Platinum + is one of the best when it comes to minimising heat damage but still doing everything you need to do.

I'm thinking maybe I do go for straighteners and try the GHD platinum ones, or Cloud 9's. Do you know which are better please and also which Will be better for my hair? Also, I wasn't sure if I'm better going for wide plates if I have long thick hair, but then maybe I would need thin plates for when I'm curling? (Id like to use them for both straightening and curling). Thanks

I had a pair of cloud 9 and they kept breaking, I had them replaced 3 times! So I gave up and went back to GHD

I always come back to GHD, I have tried T3 and Cloud 9 in the past but just prefer GHD (I know a cloud 9 are made by the original GHD but I don’t love them).

I have the GHD Max at the moment and love them, the wide plates style my thick hair so much faster. I can curl and wave with them but my hair isn’t that long, it’s a bit past shoulder length and I prefer the wave I get with the smaller plates.

I love my cloud 9's, they have transformed my hair. My hairdresser swears by them too.

I dry my hair with a revlon one step which is also revolutionary. I used to have big fuzzy Worzel Gummage hair, now it's all smooth waves.

L'Oréal Steampod has been a game changer for me. It has wider plates, which makes straightening super quick and easy to curl hair. Less damage than my old GHDs.

Thanks all. That's really helpful. So if I have long thick hair but want to be able to straighten and curl am I better going for wide or thin plates?
