stressed about what to wear on holiday

Family holiday coming up and the in laws always look incredible. MiL knows what to wear and looks good in it.

I’ve just had a baby, not lost the weight as quickly as with my first, although only a 10/12 so I know it’s ok, and my pelvic floor has given up on me, plus I’m breastfeeding.

everything seems so typically mumsy or a wrap. I have small boobs and prefer a high neck and definitely not looking forward to swimwear/dresses incase I wee! I’m working on my pelvic floor but I won’t be completely fixed by then.

how can I look good, feed and feel body confident. I don’t want to go after realising I have no idea how to dress my body anymore (holiday booked before we knew about the baby)

Hi, I feel you! Got our first family holiday for years coming up and I’ve got no swimwear and not a lot of summery clothes. I did just do an online style analysis and found it really helpful, gave advice on colours to wear and clothes for my body shape so that’s helping me when I’m shopping. Could you do something like that, it was £75? Or if you can get a half day/full day to yourself, could you do a John Lewis personal styling session? They’re free and meant to be great but I haven’t done one myself. Means you could try a few things on and see how you feel in them too.

Somewhere like Modibodi do period swimwear and knickers and I think they also do some aimed at leaks. This would make you feel confident as they have an absorbant gusset built in and don’t feel bulky. I only have one pair of period knickers from them but I bought my teens their swim knickers.

Also, have you downloaded the Squeezy app to help with your pelvic floor? You can set up reminders to do it (just don’t ignore them like me 🙄)

There’s loads of good threads on here at the moment about prepping for holidays - the holiday Princessing one, the breakfast dress and holiday evening outfits ones plus loads of other ‘help me glow up’ type ones and the advice on here is always great. I’m following a lot of them and it’s given me the kick up the backside I needed to sort myself out.

What did you wear pre-kids? I know how you feel, I have a 5yr old and 3yr old and totally lost my identity after having them - pandemic didn’t help either - but thinking about what I wore before has helped me reintroduce those kinds of things back into my wardrobe.

@Youmeandacupoftea thank you, so many good ideas. I had not even thought about period swimwear. I’ve been dreading wearing it.

I used to wear a lot of higher neck dresses which hopefully I’ll fit back in to. They are just impossible to feed in.
