Argh my Dyson hair dryer just died

And it's only just out of warranty. Bloody typical. It was a 40th birthday treat to myself. I expected more than a couple of years out of it. I'm not impressed.

Has anyone sent hair care items to Dyson to be repaired?

What do you mean died? mine used to cut out when the filter was dirty and come back on after cleaning, have mine for few good years , works as day one.
Did you register it on their website? they’re good at fixing things

I bought it earlier than I remembered. It's about 3.5 months out of warranty.

I've been looking online and I'm hoping if I clean the filter and leave it a while it might be OK. Although, I'm quite good at cleaning it regularly. Fingers crossed. I cannot afford to buy another. It was a one off big purchase as a treat to myself.

Their customer service is superb. Best speak to them and see what they say. My daughter's one had a tiny crack in the filter and she was sent a replacement immediately and free. A friend called and got advice on a repair with another issue.

It could be the wiring. My partner fixed mine but he had to buy a special screwdriver online

OMG don't they cost a fortune? ! I'd be onto them that's dreadful!

Clean the filters and check the fuse in the plug.

Ring them and ask. Worst case, you can send it to them and they will send you a reconditioned one for £99 (or that was the price last time I phoned them).

So, I left it for an hour and then I've cleaned the filter as per their YouTube video - microfibre cloth and a toothbrush, and it's working again. Hallelujah.

I feel a bit of a wally for getting so worked up about it. It's just I know I couldn't afford a replacement at the moment and my hair is definitely nicer when dried with the dyson. Appreciate that this is totally a first world problem.
