How oversized is too oversized.

Bought this sweatshirt (for reference it is one size). DH says I look ridiculous. I see people on Insta looking really good with oversized sweatshirt and leggings. I’m 5’9 and size 10 and late 40s. Am I trying to be a teen?

Don't waste your money on 'oversized' sweaters. Just buy from the mens section! Ditto boyfriend jeans, boyfriend shirts, oversized hoodie, etc. I've been buying mens clothes from charity shops for years because I'm nearly 6 foot and they fit better. Apparently I'm stylish now too.

Re everyone commenting on ‘New York’ I hadn’t even considered what the slogan said I mainly liked the colours the yellow cream and pale blue. But on that point what slogan therefore is ok or are they all naff?

If it’s comfy to wear I wouldn’t care.

I'm now being advertised this abomination on Instagram. "Targeted advertising" my arse.

Well it's a matter of personal taste isn't it but probably something not touristy like New York.

If you like those colour ways, this is very similar same but says Wellness

It's not my cup of tea but if you are looking for one with the same colours...

I agree with a pp that grossly oversized clothing only looks good if the wearer is slim/skinny to start with.

However, I like the looser fitting trend, as I see that as being universal, whereas closely fitted stuff can really only be worn by the skinnies.

Despite being old now but not overweight (not skinny either), I never ever liked my clothes to be close fitting. I always felt some part of my blubber even though there wasn't THAT much of it, was emphasised. That could have just been in my head, but it swerved me always towards looser fitting stuff.

I'm on trend now at last after fifty years of doin ma own thang.

The young Korean students do oversized sweats well. But the cut is long yet gathered, oversized but sleeve not so much as the body.
they look comfy, respectable (no crotch gap on display) and put together. I’m sure it’s harder to pull off but looks easy. Maybe it’s their bone structure.

Some alternatives: Avavav, American Vintage, Zara.

Oversized works if you’re slim. If you’re not, it can make you look bulky.
