Do you wear a belt?

Do you wear a belt with jeans or a skirt and if so, what style? Bonus points for links.

I've recently brought new jeans and figured my outfits look unfinished without a belt but I haven't worn one since the 2000's so have no idea where to look/ what style to go for.

I am size 8-10 petite, and like to dress fairly casual, classic/ floral type style depending on my mood. Wear mostly neutral colours but love a pop of colour.

Budget is flexible.

John lewis have some good leather belts. I got one that's like 2 gold interlocking circles for c £26.

I've just been looking at John Lewis but nothing stood out. Any other suggestions?

All my best belts are vintage, usually via eBay. I like slim belts in bright colours and tan woven leather.

The Sezane belts are really pretty! I have a few very basic tan, black 1" leather with brass buckle that are very old. I wouldn't get too large of a buckle, they can dig in when you are sitting.

I wear a leather belt from Superdry (I actually think its a men's one as all they had were skinny ones). I got it to keep my jeans up as i find no matter what size I buy they fall down. It is just plain tan leather. With shorts in the Summer I wear a slightly slimmer tan leather belt from Fat Face.

I have similar struggles, I think my main issue is the volume a buckle creates. I have two in rotation now though that I’m happy with. Very different to each other:

Always with jeans. I’ve got a few R M Williams belts that I wear on rotation, but I expect that’s not really the style you were thinking. They’re lovely quality though and fit with my style very well.

I always wear a belt with jeans. I feel my outfit is unfinished without one. Generally they're all leather (or a leather look). Some have a minimal buckle, others have more detail. They're black, tan and cream.

I have some cheap Primark belts, a couple from Next, a Gucci and a Hermes. I wear them interchangeably, depending on other items I'm wearing.

I'd look at Google images to see what looks good

I always wear leather belt with jeans, mine was bought ages ago from M&S men department. I feel more comfortable with it as it gives my back some support. It’s always covered as I never wear tops tacked in.

Littleguggi · 07/04/2023 17:12

Some good ideas here, but what if you wear white trainers? Would a leather belt still look okay? Maybe a tan coloured one or a bright coloured one?

Never with a skirt, and sometimes with jeans and trousers. However, it's always a scarf, often a bandeau style one in lieu of a belt.

You can always find belts in charity shops so if you browse your local charity shops you should find some.

Yes with jeans.
