Manicurist gel nail kit

Hello - I am looking for a gel nail kit that I can use at home. I have seen lots of positive reviews for the Manicurist gel nail kit on instagram but I was wondering if anyone here had any experience of it or any recommendations? Thank you.

I’ve tried it! It’s awful and I definitely don’t recommend it.

It took ages for each layer to cure - 6-8 minutes. When you realise it’s a base layer, two coats of colour and a top layer… it’s a slow process! It says 1 or 2 mins a layer but when I did that, it literally just rubbed right off (only realised after I’d done a whole hand!)

I would maybe accept that if it lasted at all. Unfortunately on me it chipped just the same as regular polish, after about 3 days. Within 5 days it was looking terrible. It doesn’t last any longer than a well applied regular polish

The one thing it does do as advertised is come off easily. It just wipes off really with remover so doesn’t feel damaging to your nails.

But given it takes ages, doesn’t last well - you may as well just use normal polish as that also comes off easily 😂

The customer service is rubbish. I complained and asked for money back and they just ignored me.

I know it has some good reviews - and LOTS of influencers pushing it at the mo, but there are lots of bad reviews too.

I've had a mylee kit for years. I think my bulbs may be going as it now takes 1min to cure each coat but I'll buy the same one again.

Also, I’m very suspicious of their reviews - they’ve got positive reviews from people who haven’t tried the actual kit (eg check out the reviews on Cult beauty) and I suspect they give out kits for free in exchange for a review.

I've had my Mylee lamp for years now. It's great and I've changed the bulbs once in that time.

I'm another MyLee person. Bought a starter kit with everything you need and four different colours for £50 or so on Black Friday and I love it.

I'm not even very dexterous normally but my nails look neat and I really enjoy doing them.

Just used my Mylee today, another recommendation for that! Works greats, looks professional and you can use all the different polish brands. The quality of the polish varies but thay are cheap enough to try a few and find one that suits you.

I bought DD a blue sky starter kit which includes a lamp and gel varnish because it was recommended as best by Good Housekeeping. She's got on well with it and has had really good results.

I have the Manicurist green flash kit- it's pretty good I think, and apart from the odd hiccup the polish lasts well (not as long as salon gels but not bad). I redo mine weekly, but definitely lasts longer than normal polish.

Ooh didnt know you could change the bulbs!

I've had a lamp for ages but just bought some of the beetles gel nail colours off Amazon they were in the sale so dirt cheap £5 odd for 12 colours. I also bought the base and top coat and the current set I have on have been on for 3 days so far with no chips so already outlasting nail varnish.

I have the mylee kit; I used the poly gel version rather than just the polishes as I’m a nail biter and love a long(ish) nail. It’s been fantastic so far!

Only on the older version not the newer led one

Mylee here too. I do them every 2 weeks or so as I cant get the hang of infills.
