Evening wedding party - male outfit help

We've been invited to one of my work colleagues' evening wedding party. Any ideas what my b/f should wear? Suit, or less formal?

You can't go wrong with a suit. If it turns out to be informal he can just take his jacket and tie off.

What is the venue like? Or ask your colleague what they think is appropriate.

Depends where it is. DH would wear chinos and shirt no tie or jacket
