Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk eye palette. Worth it?

Hi,

Heard good things generally, but did a quick search in the MN archives and wow, CT isn't up there with your favourites!

I don't tend to wear eye shadow. Sometimes a little bit of pinky/gold shimmer (think I have a Maybelline cream shadow) but that's it. I have green eyes, so tend to suit those kind of tones.

It looks good to me, but with the price tag, I don't want to be disappointed!

Opinions on this item specifically would be really appreciated.

Thanks 😊

I like the quality of CT eyeshadow and blusher. It's well pigmented and long lasting and I have very oily skin. I think it depends on your colouring . The pillow talk blusher is lovely on me but the eyeshadow is too pink and makes me look a bit red eyed and ill. I have just bought a pot of her Oyster Pearl eyeshadow and that suits me far more. I'm fair skinned with brown pigmenting on my eyelids .

@MedievalMadness I'm also quite fair. Pink tones seem to bring out my eyes, but too pink would do the same to me as you describe, so it's a bit of a balancing act.

Tempted to just go for one of those pots actually. Isn't the oyster one quite grey?

No I wouldn’t say it’s grey. I’ll see if I can upload an accurate pic. Just making dinner but will do it after

I got this in a beauty advent calendar and I love it. I wear the neutral pink all the time. My skin is very pale with blonde (ahem) hair and it doesn't make my eyes look pink at all. I will be rebuying it once it finishes.

The Easy Eye palette is only slightly more and has more shades so might also be worth trying?

I don't get the hate for Charlotte Tilbury.

I'm a complete convert to her magic eye cream, which has done wonders for my dark circles and puffiness. The eye shadow pencils are amazing too.

I use that pallet daily and I have brown eyes. I really like it. I do find the oyster one quite grey,

MedievalMadness · 03/04/2023 19:08

The one nearest my hand is oyster pearl and the other is pillow talk. I've put them on thickly so you can see them at max intensity. On my skin the oyster is Goldy brown and the pillow talk pinky brown. I don't get the CT hate either.

Oh if it makes any difference my hair is dark brown and eyes hazel

I bought it recently and it’s just a bit ‘meh’, I find the browns quite red which isn’t my favourite.
