What are these bumps on my forehead?

Excuse the shiny red skin but I’m currently in the bath! I’ve had a couple of small bumps on my forehead for a few years and never paid much attention to them but have noticed I now have 5 or 6 on my forehead and one on my cheek. They’re definitely not spots / whiteheads / blocked pores, feel firm, don’t itch or cause any irritation and don’t change shape. Any idea what they are and if there’s anything I can do about them? Or is this just what happens when you’re approaching 50?

Could they be sebaceous hyperplasia? I have them too. Give it a Google and search images to see if they look familiar. They’re harmless.

I should add they can often be confused for skin cancer lesions but generally those tend to be sore looking or bleed etc. Obviously if you’ve any concerns it’s worth getting them checked to put your mind at rest.

I agree with PP it looks like sebaceous hyperplasia. I had one that got quite big on my forehead and got it removed, had to go to doctor for advice before they’d remove it (beautician) and he said that’s what it was and it wasn’t anything to worry about.

Should have added, they appeared a couple of years ago and I’m 44.

I knew someone would know on MN! I’ve just googled images and it does look like sebaceous hyperplasia (it really helps to know what you’re searching for)! I’m 48 and probably got the first one 2 or 3 years ago.

Glad it helped! Mine appeared mid 40’s too. I’ve got a patch on my nose that I was concerned about but the doc put my mind at rest.

It seems like I already do all the over the counter things - vitamin A, Azelaic Acid, Niacinamide, Salicylic Acid, SPF. I’ve always had oily skin but I thought I was long past any lumps and bumps.
