What kind of outerwear for this dress?

I bought this beautiful linen dress from Cos for summer and it's heavenly, but I need something to wear on top for outdoors. (Disclaimer: pic is a model. The dress looks more A-line on me and the sleeves are flared.) A regular blazer doesn't look right. Any thoughts?

If it was me I’d go for a long coat, anything shorter would seem odd to me. The pic gives it an almost coat-like look.

I'd wear a trenchcoat.

One of those shawl cardigan things with no sides sewn up so it drapes.

I still like your blazer thinking, I have a really relaxed oversized linen mix blazer from Cos from a couple of seasons ago, no shoulder pads, no waist definition etc and it looks amazing layered over loose dresses. I also have a cos cashmere “open side vest” which would work. Neither are available now but similar things must exist. Cos do have an oversized cashmere “sweater vest” though that might work?
Do you have to have a coat if the weather is about to change? Could you layer slim fit tops underneath? If it’s black, it’s fine if the sleeves show, in fact it could even be an enhancement. E.g. a heattech polo-neck

I also think a contrasting loose long length coat..a Mac would be perfect as the looseness would contrast with the structure of the dress.
