Flip flop alternatives for the beach

Can anyone recommend pretty sandals (not shoes) for the beach that are water resistant/proof like jelly sandals?

I tend to lose flip flops as they come off so easily. Looking for pretty (flowers/embellished?) sandals, not plain - for beach life.

Crocs. OK not exactly pretty but perfect for the beach.

Saltwater sandals, they have lovely colours

Havaianas Luna Flip Flops. You wont lose these.

Thank you.

I have Teva in a flip flop at the front but with a strap at the back like a sandal to keep them on.

I prefer my normal flip flops because they stay in my feet on the beach but the Teva ones would suit your needs

I have a lot of summer footwear but here's a photo for you. I also have Teva flip flops which somehow never come off as they're designed well and are very comfy

I love my normal soled fitflop flip flops also very comfy much more so than the Havana's I've had in the past. Saltwater are like walking on concrete and look like little girls sandals so I dislike them for that reason (can not understand the love for them other than they stay on your feet in the sea)

Haviana sandals. They are the jelly type waterproof material and very comfy. I literally wore them all of last summer

Teva sandals look fab! 😍

Saltwater sandals look so uncool and yes, like little gir sandals. I wish they had styled them a bit better because the waterproof leather sounds good.

Following. No more flip flops for me, wore them on my last holiday and walking to the pool one day i caught my little toe on the raised edge the path, resulting in a badly broken toe.
I now want toe covering sandals!

ouch! sounds painful. I would like to see waterproof sandals that look pretty for the beach and not like trekkie walking footwear as much as I do like them. Teva might do toe covering sandals?

I wear my Fitflops on the beach, so comfy and hard wearing, and fine in water.

SleekMamma · 30/03/2023 02:34

Look up the crocs range of sandals. There are some flip floppy type ones that don't look like crocs. But waterproof and comfy.

TheTeenageYears · 30/03/2023 02:53

Melissa shoes are fabulous but will set you back a bit more than £2.99 market stall jellies from the 80's though.

MuddledMindy · 30/03/2023 04:39

Birkenstock Eva's !

katsue · 30/03/2023 07:28

I wouldn't say Saltwater sandals work for this. Yes they are not ruined by getting wet but they do stretch when wet (that's how you adjust them to fit you in the first place). If you get them wet and then walk on sand then I think you'd make them shapeless.

I like Birkenstocks for the beach, not waterproof but have a thick sole. I think the Crocs or some swimming sliders are best for what you're looking for.
