Covering grey hairs at home?

Are there any at-home hair dyes that just cover grey? I have strands of grey in my mousy brown hair. I don’t want to cover my natural colour, I just want to colour the greys.

Most hair dyes to cover grey seem really dark or red, and I don’t want that. I want to keep my natural light brown colour, just without the greys, using a cruelty free product that I can apply at home (no money to keep going to the hairdresser).

I tried henna on a sample of hair that I cut off, the colour was ok on the normal hair but it didn’t colour the greys!

The short answer is no. Nothing can target the greys only.

Daniel field watercolours is a dye that won’t lighten hair so if you pick something a bit lighter than your natural colour, in theory it should just cover greys. I only tried it once and it was a faff and I’m not convinced it made any difference to my greys. I keep meaning to try again though, maybe mix with less water or leave it for longer.
I currently use Clairol root touch up to just do the greys that are obvious. It matches my natural colour well. But it doesn’t last very long! It’s quick though.
I tried a defy grey shampoo and conditioner but it wasn’t great and I prefer to use sls and silicone free stuff.
So I’m also on the look out for this miracle only grey covering product!
