Anais Anais at 40?

At 40 & pregnant, am I too old to wear this perfume? I have a beautiful boxed set sitting in the bottom of my wardrobe and it's probably been there for 2 years, maybe that says something?!? It was my first "grown up" perfume that was bought for me as a teenager and I still like it as a summer perfume, but is there a cut off point like mini skirts???

Um I think so tbh. I only say this because just yesterday I was in London and I suddenly smelled Anais Anais and turned around and it was an older woman (older than 40 - about 60) and I just thought that it was wrong, a bit unsophisticated for an otherwise elegant lady iyswim.

the fact that you are asking is your answer i think.

I love the smell of anais anais ...who gives a toss if it's seen as a teenager scent. It's much nicer than the teen stuff my dd wears ..ghost etc.

ZippiBabes · 13/02/2008 10:17

do perfumes have ages?

omg i am making even more sartorial errors than i thought

where does armani diamonds and 212 sexy come in this age thing

Carmenere · 13/02/2008 10:18

You are exempt Zippi

Hassled · 13/02/2008 10:19

Oh dear God - I've worn Anais Anais since I was a teenager and at 41 am still wearing it - had never crossed my mind I'm just too darn old. I'll go and buy some Eau de Decrepit today .

Carmenere · 13/02/2008 10:20

Ok maybe I am wrong and maybe 40 is ok because it was launched when 40 yr olds were teens iyswim. Perhaps it is because I saw a much older lady wearing it and thought that was wrong.

if the bottle is beautiful put it on display (must admit I don't know, have never seen one)

you don't need to wear it, it would just be like an ornament which will remind you of all the things you like it for

don't leave it in the bottom of the wardrobe

ZippiBabes · 13/02/2008 10:24

i couldn't have any in the bottom of the wardrobe mine gets used up really quick

i haven't got any at the moment and feel totally naked

jesuswhatnext · 13/02/2008 10:26

Thank you all! I'm off to rescue it from the bottom of the wardrobe....40 is only a number not something you feel. I've got a lot more to worry about, like girls at ante natal class saying "didn't you go to school with my mum?" Happy Wednesday xx

I'm 41 and I certainly wouldn't wear Anaïs Anaïs... but I'm not an Anaïs Anaïs / Cacharel type of woman
