Fashionable+comfortable+smart jeans for size 16

... or is this asking for the moon on a stick?

DON'T want skinny - too dated
DONT' want too uncomfortable to wear all day

DO want something relatively smart to wear to work (ole smart T-shirt + blazer look)

Everything I've found I like the look of on a model I either can't do up (am a healthy size 16) or it gathers and gapes at my crotch because stretching over chunky thighs. Ugh.

Ideas from the stands...?!!! Anyone else a size 16 or over and have a pair of jeans they love that aren't skinny?!

M&s magic shaping straight leg jeans. The ones that are about £45. (If fashionable enough)

M&S Harper

Another vote for M&S. Can't remember the variety but mine are straight legged ones. Slim - not skinny but not baggy.

I have these and wear them for work. I absolutely love them. I'm a size 16 apple and they work brilliantly with good quality T-shirt and blazer or short tunic dress.

Levis plus size bootcut…super-flattering 😍

You can get these same jeans from M&S supplier on eBay for £16. Brand new.

These are really nice - stretchy waist but look smart.

Came on here to say M&S and see others have beaten me to it! I go for the cheaper M&S straight leg ones (rather than magic) as I'd rather spend less often than once every now and then (the darker ones do fade (get what you pay for) and my chunky legs always rub the denim away between the upper thighs no matter how expensive jeans I've worn in the past.

Dark denim or blacks could be smart enough for work depending what you do (I couldn't wear jeans to work but that's my profession).

Thanks for the replies so far. I've had a look on M&S and like the look of the wide cut but they're currently OOS. (Of course!)

Straight legs always look u flattering on me as always relatively clingy to top part of leg and then again on calf but shapeless elsewhere (have a pair of Boden girlfriends and they do nothing for me!!)

Probably not smart enough but H&M+ have some nice jeans. You have to completely ignore the sizes mind - and you know that because it'll say the model is wearing a 20/22!

I've just got 2 pairs of 90s style from there. I'm an 18 and the 24 fits nicely. I sent one style back which didn't go anywhere near - probably would have needed at 28! Held it up against my Tu 18s and they were smaller 🙈 So if you order any, try a range of sizes because they're random!
