Dresses for the long of torso

Hi all, does anyone have any recommendations for somewhere I can buy dresses which fit the longer body? I’d love to wear more dresses but I always find the waist sits too high for me. I’ve reasonably large boobs too which doesn’t help. Im a size 12/14 and 5’8” so not especially tall but a bit out of proportion. Any recommendations gratefully appreciated :-)

I’ve not looked for a while but have you tried Long Tall Sally? I’m long in the torso too (but with short legs) - 5’6” overall. I’ve had a few things from there over the years. More the tops than the bottoms though.

I’ll have a look, thanks for the tip - I’ve heard of long tall sally but thought I was too short for their stuff :-)

I have the same problem @Strumpetpumpet , also 5'8", but 14/16. I've tried LTS stuff in the past, but it's been far too long overall. I've had some success with Espirit though.

Ooh thanks, I’ll have a look there too x

Have you tried any of the Tall ranges from, for instance, ASOS, New Look, Next, Karen Millen? I tried ASOS but was swamped by the one dress I ordere) at 5’7.5”) but the others may be better. For higher end, I had some success with Cefinn.

I am the same height, size 12, also busty (28H) . I have the same issue as I have long ribs. Often the waist is too high as you say, and I do think being busty doesn’t help as it takes up more fabric. I have some dresses from Toast but they are all a bit too high waisted and not very well fitted across the bust.
What is your budget ? I find Scandinavian brands a bit better as they are made for taller people.

Yes! Toast! Love the look of the clothes, but they never fit properly for that reason.

Tall ranges often just seem to have longer skirts, with the waistline under my (sizeable!) bust.

Thanks for the tip, can you recommend any specific brands? I’d happily pay £100+ for a dress that actually fits me x
