anyone got a current (March 2023) Kettlewell catalogue?

I had one and it had a generic discount code on the back of it (ie. not customer number dependent) and my DH has thrown it out. I wanted to buy some stuff and I'm annoyed I've lost the code.

If anyone has it, please could you let me know or PM me ?

Would be most grateful.

Hi - the code is KCROSE for 15% off and free P&P until 1 April - happy shopping!

threwitout · 25/03/2023 18:55

Thank you SO MUCH @Idontlikeshouting .
Sorry for shouting!

I just looked at the Kettlewell website and genuinely believed it to be satirical! That cannot be a real shop?! It's like 1993!

tobee · 25/03/2023 22:01

Yes but not 1993 prices!!! 😳😳

threwitout · 26/03/2023 14:18

@SchoolTripDrama Even if the brightness isn't your thing, the t-shirts and basics are really good and you can get subtle variations of colour that suit your own colouring - like say you want a light pink t-shirt once you know if you are summer, winter, spring or autumn you can get a better shade to suit you.

Prue Leith is the face of the current catalogue and the whole ALL BRIGHT ULTRA BRIGHT definitely isn't my style but they do have some nice stuff.

It's not really the colour that's the issue. I just find the style of 90% quite old hat. It's annoying because the concept is good. And a fairly ordinary short sleeved cotton polo t shirt is £55! Shock

So what though - no-one's forcing you to buy from them. And it's good quality stuff. They've moved away from the basics they used to specialise in which is annoying for me, but I assume they know what sells to their customer base better than I do.

Exactly - I've bought the occassional t-shirt as they do a soft white colour that is much more flattering on me than true white. I wish they did more current shapes, but I suspect I'm not their target demographic.

It's more expensive because it's good quality and not produced in a sweatshop in Bangladesh.

I just did a quick Google and Kettlewell has been bought by a company called Refind Brands which is the parent company of Celtic and Co apparently.
I wouldn't be an emulator of Prue Leith's style- it's all a bit bright for my taste, but it suits her and is cheerful and uplifting and floats her boat.

WrinklesShminkles · 27/03/2023 11:16

Yes, I've been getting emails from them about that - also Turtle Doves cashmere and Frugi are in the same group now <shrug>

threwitout · 27/03/2023 11:38

Thinking about Prue Leith - do you think if you are older and wear bright colours that you are seen as a little bit eccentric?

Why is that I wonder? Is it because culturally we are indoctrination to believe older people should just fade a way and not want to be looked at .

In some way I feel I wouldn't want to dress like that when older as I feel I would be judged badly/ seen as a bit weird (my issue I know but wondering why I feel that way?)

@threwitout perhaps Prue always dressed like that - in a colourful way.
I'm more of a Cos type myself. Navy or black. Simple pieces. Smile

Lolaisntashowgirl · 27/03/2023 17:02

Ive not bought anything this season as there seems to be so little to buy this time round. And I wish they’d bring back the long length vests/camisoles.

I didn’t know that but it perhaps explains the disappointing stock these last couple of months as well as the stock levels. This years new season has been very sadly lacking.

I’m in my 60’s and a HOC summer. I think that whilst Pru looks very nice she can also look rather garish. It’s nothing to do with age. It’s just about her very often looking as if the costume lady should have stopped adding a few minutes ago.
