Recommendations for plimsoles/trainers that I can wear with dresses

I have really thin ankles/feet so clumpy trainers just don't look right on me if my legs are bare. At the moment I have some adidas honey lo and Nizza lo which are both wearing out but are dainty enough to wear in summer with shorts, skirts or dresses. Just wondered if anyone has any other recommendations for similar plimsole type trainers? Preferably comfy too! Would love some with a bit of arch support too!

Converse?

I have the same problem OP, scrawny ankles and calves!

I like this sort of style

lacoste do similar style, also I’ve picked up cheaper versions at New Look.

my feet are huge too, as well as the skinny ankles, and this sort of style seems to help make my feet look smaller, maybe because there is less coverage of the foot?

Thanks so much. Will have a try at these. Forgot to say have high top converse but the normal plimsoles make my feet look really big, not sure why!

I bought a couple of pair from Rocket Dog last year, they have a good selection.

I’ve bought these a couple of times as regular plimsoles look clumpy on me too. They go with so many outfits and are an absolute bargain. They do a broderie anglaise style too

Superga, the simple white plimpsoles

I got some white plimsoll type trainers from M&S last summer and lived in them - they went with everything!

Those are nice. Really, canvas sneakers rather than trainers.

I don't own these but have my eye on them.

Here

These. I've had so many pairs over the years. I even wore these exact ones under my wedding dress.

rookiemere · 26/03/2023 08:39

Sainsburys do a similar type of plimsole trainer for about £12. I usually stock up on a few pairs for the summer. Hoping they do white ones this year - I've not seen them yet.

I love Fitflop Rally. Sooo comfortable.

WhereAreWeNow · 26/03/2023 11:08

Lots of nice suggestions here but Superga and other plimsoll styles are v flat with zero arch support. You could try putting an arch support insole in Superga @Kidsandcat . Or Fitflop Rally that someone else suggested have a bit more support and they look fine on my scrawny ankles.

RosaBonheur · 26/03/2023 13:54

To be fair, I have very flat feet and too much arch support gives me blisters. So I find Superga incredibly comfortable. But putting insoles in this type of shoe is a good idea.
