The perfect white t shirt

I'm looking for a nice quality white t shirt. It needs to be thick enough so that it's not see through. Crew neck rather than a v neck. Not cropped and not too long, but able to be tucked into high waisted jeans. I don't want tight fitted, but not too oversized.

Any suggestions?

I got a boden one as recommended on here.
I got a small (I’m usually a 10 in most places) and it fits well.
Its thick and good quality

Everywhere I read recommends ( fashion bloggers etc ) the Arket tee.

It's around £35.

Marks and Spencer do lovely white T Shirts. You can purchase them in slim fit or regular. Not knowing how tall you are, I would say they can be tucked into high waisted jeans. I believe they are around £7.99 but wouldn't swear to that.
Not all branches do both so you may want to order on line if you go with M&S

That sounds like a good price. I'm 5ft6 and a size 10-12. I find some shops have so many t shirts in slightly different styles and it's hard to find the perfect one. I went into Zara yesterday and it was a bit overwhelming... The tops I tried on were seriously see through too

Finisterre. Lovely soft organic cotton.

sunglassesonthetable · 23/03/2023 09:20

Is this the Arket one that's recommended? Might order it and try it

Yes. Think so. On the cusp of ordering myself. I think the lighter weight is also recommended. Might be worth ordering both to compare .

What Sali Hugh's book is this from please?

sunglassesonthetable · 23/03/2023 09:28

It's called Everything is Washable :And other life lessons.

P0mbears · 23/03/2023 09:33

Fab, thanks! I've just ordered all the white t shirts from Arket and will have a try on session. I have a few items for my kids from there and like the fit and quality so hopefully it will work out for me 😊

Rapanui t-shirts are really good quality. Not too badly priced if you buy a set.

lovemelongtime · 23/03/2023 09:46

Super dry, lovely soft cotton, good quality and not see through.

nurseynursery · 23/03/2023 09:47

I really like the Amazon essentials white and black t shirts. They're great.

sunglassesonthetable · 23/03/2023 11:29

👍🏻

Mercurial123 · 23/03/2023 15:44

Muji are great for the price.

whiteonesugar · 23/03/2023 16:49

I have one from Next, I think it's a Mylene Klass one and I really like it, its a great shape, not see through and washes well!

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 23/03/2023 19:57

Next- these fit the bill. I have them in many colours, including white. I just can not bring myself to spend too much on a white t shirt, because I can guarantee I will stain it.

So1invictus · 23/03/2023 20:07

Cos, Jaeger at M&S and Arket heavy here too.
The Arket lightweight are a bit rubbish though.
M&S do lots of price points and the quality difference shows. I buy a couple of the cheaper ones to go on holiday and then leave them there. The Autograph ones at about £20 are very good.
Zara are shit. Bought 3 in Lisbon last summer as was running out of clean clothes 🤣 and they shrank about 10cm in first wash.

Pigtailsandall · 23/03/2023 21:37

Came here to say Arket and COS too. I wear a lot of white tees. The Arket heavy ones are very thick, so I prefer the mid-weight ones which look nicer tucked in. I have some great ones from cos too which have washed really well.

So1invictus · 24/03/2023 05:49

First time I have ever been asked where my T shirt was from was the Cos swingy one last year. So flattering.

Sofitella · 24/03/2023 06:09

Reiss for me, the ones with the slight turn ups on the sleeves - brilliant staple!
