Are Birkenstock shoes comfortable?

I want to buy these. They look comfortable but also look a bit flat.
I have orthopaedic insoles so will count on them.
What do you think?
I just realised I cannot be bothered with uncomfortable shoes anymore. I'm size 6,5. Wide feet. If I travel for work it is good two hours on public transport and involve walking up and down the hill. I want some light shoes but also bouncy. Not inflexible.

I don't have the shoes, but the sandals I have, I wouldn't be able to put my orthotics in as the sole is kind of moulded to your foot, if you see what I mean? I also find them hard and not at all bouncy.

I have Fitflops brogues for what you've described, cured my plantar fasciitis in a week! Very light, very bouncy.

Oh thanks. I have been wearing dr martens and gosh they are super heavy and actually not bouncy at all. I'm fed up.

How do they fit @BarrelOfOtters right size or should I go a size up?

I will have a look now

I live in my Birkenstokes during the summer. The soles are not flexible but I find the arch support great.

Sizewise I generally take a 39/40 in shoes and its a 39 in these so pretty true to size. I have a slim fitting foot though

I am 6 in most shoes and wear 6 in Fitflops, but I have wide feet and I think my friend has sized down as her feet are narrower.

On the official website, they are pretty expensive, but you can often get older styles cheaper on Amazon, Zalando etc.

I'm currently wearing my Fitflop Oxfords around the house as my Crocs weren't helping my feet after my run yesterday 😅

I'm a size 38 (UK 5) with quite narrow but very healthy feet, I found Birkinstocks very uncomfortable. The moulded shape didn't work for me. I have high arches and got sore feet. Fine to slip on and nip outdoors for two minutes but too uncomfortable to walk half a mile down the road to the shops .

@MulberryDerry - Birkies have a moulded footbed land provide similar support to your orthopaedic insoles. I normally wear Solovair boots with insoles, but get the support I need from Birkenstocks (plantar fasciitis).
