Tasteful prom dress

My dd and I have been looking for prom dresses. They all seem to be rather ghastly polyester dresses made en masse in a sweat shop sold at vastly inflated prices through various online stores. I fear they will be one of those 'what I ordered vs what I got'

Please does anyone have advice on where to buy on trend, not cheesy, decent prom outfits? Happy ti spend a bit

@mybeautifuloak Lace and beads do some nice dresses and they sell on ASOS . look on Debenhams and monsoon they have some lovely dresses too

DD has just got a Mascara London prom dress from a local boutique for under £300 (I know this is still ridiculously expensive but she does look and feel amazing in it. Just as well I only have one child though!). These shops also keep a list so no-one else from that school can buy the same dress.

I also saw lots of lovely dresses on Vinted - Tiffany prom, Red Carpet Ready etc. Some of them have never been worn due to cancelled proms during Covid.

We got a House of CB dress. It’s amazing. Some of the dresses are a bit low cut but the one we got isn’t although strapless and to be fair it’s so well made and it’s not going anywhere and no worries about falling out of it. It was £200 and such good quality.
