Hair is greasy and lank, even after washing it.

My hair has gone really greasy over the last few months.
It used to be a sign that I need my highlights putting in and roots doing as it used to dry my hair out. However even after having highlights put in the long layed front piece of my hair is just lank and greasy.
I have tried leaving my hair for a few more days before washing. This drives me nuts but I had to give it a go.
I thoughly rinse my hair and make sure there is not residue left
I have only put conditioner on the ends where my hair gets tangled or dry. No conditioner near the top of half of my hair.
I have changed shampoo and conditioner. I am using a 'detox' one at the moment to give that a try.
I have not put any products on my hair when drying or styling.
I am at a loss what to do. It's mainly the front strand and it seems to fall away from the rest of the hair.
Any ideas what I can do please. I am getting fed up of one bit of hair in particular looking like its been dangling in olive oil!

This is what I mean about the front strand. I only washed my hair two hours ago.

I am following. I have this problem and can't help. Usually when my heart goes like this I give it a cut and change shampoo type for a while.

I have this problem too, haven't solved it completely so watching with interest.

I find dry shampoo helps, I put it on the roots of freshly washed hair and it buys me a bit of time before it gets greasy or at least makes it look slightly better.

The detox/clarifying shampoo - just use that once a week as it strips your hair and isn't meant to be used frequently it could actually be making your scalp produce more oils to replace what's been lost.

I also really like the Elvive clay shampoo for rebalancing but it's pretty hard to get a hold of atm.

Deep conditioning mask for oily hair once a week too.

Switch to a shampoo bar and don’t use conditioner. It takes a while to get used to but your hair will look amazing.

I use herbal essences strawberry shampoo and olaplex oil on the ends (it’s non greasy). A found a scalp brush a bit helpful too. Try leaving the conditioner off.
