Is Dermalogica skincare worth it?

I'm looking to refresh my skincare regime, I'm 41 and looking for a brand that will help with anti aging and pigmentation. I have heard good things about Dermalogica but it's a lot of money.

Is it worth it?

I use the Age Smart range and I love it.

Xztop · 16/03/2023 18:25

I've been using it since July. It got rid of my pigmentation but I'm currently having a bad reaction since they changed my formula where it looks like I have burns and acne on my skin. In all honesty my skin looks worse now I think so I'm cancelling my prescription

Workawayxx · 16/03/2023 18:27

I use skin and me which I think is pretty much the same. I find it really good and my friend has been using for a few months and I’ve seen a noticeable improvement in her skin.

I used to use Dermalogica but now love La Roche Possy Cicaplast Baumé 5+. A third of the price and deeply moisturising.

I got our off by the bovine amniotic fluid...but I also didn't rate it

I really like Dermalogica products. Have used them for years. Espically age smart. The SPF 50 cream is so light.
Id recommended going to a Salon and having a facial with the products the facialist suggests for your skin.
I will often then buy 1-2 products from them and then the Jersey Beauty Company has good prices and is generous with samples. I buy the bigger sized products because I think they are better value for money.

Are you talking about Dermatica perhaps?
(not Dermalogica?)

Wintersgirl · 16/03/2023 19:15

Daily Microfoliant is good stuff...

That's a good idea, I'll give that a go and see what they recommend

I love Dermalogica

Find a local salon that does a full 90 minute Dermalogica facial .. then you'll know how they feel , smell etc and the beautician will be trained to advise on your concerns

My salon does lots of offers where you order online direct and often get freebies or add ons

Good luck
I love double cleanse , special cleansing gel , daily microfolliant, dynamic skin recovery

TheOGCCL · 16/03/2023 19:23

There are definitely two different companies being talked about here, Dermatologica and Dermatica. Which one are you interested in OP?

I love the pre cleanse and the daily microfoliant

HundredMilesAnHour · 16/03/2023 21:43

I really like Dermalogica. It made a visible difference to my skin once I found which products suited me. It is, however, expensive so I buy from either Jersey Beauty Co or John & Ginger who sell it slightly cheaper.

I especially love the Daily Exfoliant. I've been using it for 8 years now.

BluebellBlueballs · 17/03/2023 22:04

Beautyflash are doing a dermalogica box at the moment which has a full size Precleanse and lots of minis for £40.

Precleanse alone costs more than that normally

I've excitedly ordered one

KvotheTheBloodless · 17/03/2023 22:06

Dunno about Dermalogica, but Dermatica is fab - I'm 38, and use tretinoin prescribed through Dermatica for anti-aging and melasma, works like a dream. None of the over-the-counter stuff comes close.

Slimjimtobe · 17/03/2023 22:06

Totally love the pre cleanse (I use any other products happily but it’s the only thing that takes my make up off hassle free and smells lovely and rich)

BMrs · 17/03/2023 22:21

If you're after anti-aging use tretinoin. It's the gold standard for anti agin. You can get an online prescription at dermatica.co.uk for £20 a month but bottles last around 6 week.

You'll never look back!!!

whoactuallyreallycares · 17/03/2023 22:22

Yes definitely. I trained with them and saw incredible results with my clients - not just saying that!

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 18/03/2023 07:31

Yes, it’s brilliant range and cruelty free. Some training colleges use dermalogica for their facials & are listed on the main dermalogica website.

smellyflowers · 18/03/2023 07:34

Maybe try one product and see if you like it? Or get samples off somewhere like ebay

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 18/03/2023 07:45

They used to a little tin of serums in little doses, 6 weeks worth in each tin of multivitamin recovery serum and it was amazing but they discontinued it. I wish they’d bring it back.

The spray on toner lasts me a year per bottle.

bostonchamps · 18/03/2023 07:51

Daily microfoliant is a holy grail product for me!

Pickle2023 · 18/03/2023 08:10

Thanks for all your help. I've made an order for a couple of bits, pre cleanse, micro exfoliate and the vitamin mask. Look forward to trying them all
