Hi all

Has anybody used the Lumea (Prestige) on their facial veins? I have them at the sides of my nose and cheeks. I had ipl at a clinic years ago, they vanished but have since reappeared!

The website suggests you can. Would be interested to hear from people who have used them.

Branster · 16/03/2023 20:05

Interesting question. I don't know the answer and hopefully there will be more useful comments.

On the safety aspects, is it safe to use on the face towards the eye area? On nose and cheeks? That would worry me.

SgtCawood · 16/03/2023 20:15

Ooh exciting - I have both capillaries AND a lumea so off to try!

Rainbowshit · 16/03/2023 20:16

Ooh now that's an interesting idea.

Branster · 16/03/2023 20:17

@SgtCawood please be careful!!!

And wear high SPF after treatment.

Is it safe though?

spacechimp79 · 16/03/2023 20:21

Oooo this is interesting. Let us know how you get on @SgtCawood

Trolltrotters · 16/03/2023 20:44

Interested to hear whether you can. I've had mine years and long lost the instructions. My son (12) had a spider angioma treated recently with an IPL laser. I wouldn't take a chance with him but if it were me I'd have given the lumina a go.

Ledochas · 19/08/2023 09:10

@Summerglowing @SgtCawood i know this is a couple of months ago but did you try this?

AnchorWHAT · 19/08/2023 15:44

I have a similar device to the lumea, and really think it's reducing the look of a broken vein on my nose.

Ledochas · 19/08/2023 18:49

@AnchorWHAT thinking of trying but don't want to create bruising or anything. Am I worrying unnecessarily?

AnchorWHAT · 19/08/2023 18:55

Well its had no adverse effects on me but i dont have any sensitive skin or anything, i do keep my eyes shut and only do a couple of pulses at a time, probably once a week at the moment and so far i think its reducing the look a bit, its certainly not as noticable ata distance but in my magnifying mirror its still there so not hundered percent sure its working, i think if you are careful its worth a try, wear sunglasses or close your eyes 😎

spacechimp79 · 19/08/2023 18:59

Wish I was brave enough to give it a try

Ledochas · 19/08/2023 20:13

@AnchorWHAT thank you. I think I will. I figure you can use it on your upper lip so should be okay...

MsDastardley · 19/08/2023 20:31

I’ve no idea, but I remember reading a post on here where someone reported it as a bonus after using one for facial hair.

can anyone tell me if they hurt. I’ve had IPL in salons and it was very painful for me

AnchorWHAT · 21/08/2023 15:09

Mine doesn't hurt, it gets a bit warm but no pinging or pain. It is a braun.

Vargas · 21/08/2023 15:48

Has anyone had (or heard of) success with spider veins on legs?

AnchorWHAT · 23/08/2023 13:45

Not on legs but unless I am imagining things my broken capillaries on my face look less noticible

Doesn't touch mine, I'm afraid.
