Aldi new dupe for Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair
Branster · 15/03/2023 15:39
Has anyone heard of this or tried it?
Apparently in stores since last Sunday.
I did not hear anything about it until just now, so probably sold out already and it wasn't showing online.
A new product line with face serum, eye serum and night cream.
Why do they keep doing this?
I'm very tempted to try the nearest Aldi tonight if I get time, on the off chance they have some left in stock. But I'm very weary that if it turns out to be a really good product, I'll never see it again and they'll never bring it back.

I can never find these things in my Aldi! I'd like yo try this.
I wonder what the ingredients are/ how it compares to more expensive skincare.

I love Aldi and Lidl but hate them at the same time, for exactly this reason, you will never know if the product you want will ever be seen again
I have horded a number of toner waters from Aldi, plus their rose oil facial oil in case its never seen again
Also from Lidl I bought a turkish greek yoghurt a couple of years ago, never seen it since, never tasted anything like it anywhere else. Infuriating.
They have a dress in there at the moment which I would have liked to buy later in the summer when Im a bit slimmer, you can bet I will never see that dress again. Plus Lidl dont do online shopping.
Plus Aldi are not consistent with what they do online to what they do in store.
Infuriating the pair of them

Without the box in our hands, it's impossible to see the list of ingredients 😔

I use the existing Lacura eye and face serums and they use the same ingredients as those in the L'Oreal and some Avon / Boots ones, but not necessarily in the same quantities (I've thrown the packaging from my last lot) & they do work. But then I tend to buy several every time they show up in the local stores in case there's none left when I run out.
They used to do a fantastic charcoal face wash and then discontinued it; it was the only thing that worked on my DD's acne and we were gutted.

I agree. So close (very affordable) yet out of reach (can never find it in the first place or repurchase).
Aldi used to sell these really tasty Spanish cocktail sausages on a regular basis - they vanished a couple of years ago never to be seen again!
Lidl dress: buy it now, it won't be back! Speaking from experience here. They do some good cotton basic underwear once in a blue moon. Last summer they had a nice selection of coordinated linen mix items but by the time I made up my mind they were sold out in my size.

Well I nearly bought it but Ive just had WLS which means I have no idea what size I will be and although its cheap (probably sold out now anyway) I dont want to get a size that I've already gone through, if that makes sense.

Thank you @BeatrixFranklin
Not sure what they all are but I'll compare with Estee Lauder ingredients (looooong list there) see how many are the same.
Aldi skincare is so good, even if not near to Estee Lauder ingredients, it's probably a very decent eye serum, especially for the price.
Branster · 15/03/2023 16:37
@bellac11 I totally understand.
Unless it's a very straightforward item that you could alter yourself, it is too complicated otherwise.

The Charcoal facemask was amazing but the original company is no longer sold in the UK either so I assume it can't be a dupe. I am a sucker for them and have been waiting an age for the pink scrub & mask to comeback from Aldi.
The same can be said for the wine in Aldi's it's "seasonal" rather than a permanent product!
Branster · 15/03/2023 16:57
Ooh I think you mean the dupe for Glow mask.
I used the Glow mask ages ago. Packaging was a hexagonal white box with silver writing( or gold) , I can't remember the actual product box. It was a very hyped product but incredibly drying for me. I can see how it was good on oily skin maybe . I think it was clay rather than charcoal. It's been ages so not sure anymore. But it did do a very good deep cleanse.
I didn't know Aldi did a similar product.
I don't think I know of half of their random new product as I never see them.

I keep seeing the pink scrub and mask in store, and sure it's online too.

I've tried a few 'dupes' over the years of theirs but am never often blown away. They're nice in and of themselves sometimes and reasonably cheap but I find the thing that's really the 'dupe' is just the packaging, the actual product is comparable but I'm not sure I'd call them dupes really.
For similar money (if not cheaper when they're on offer) I find the Superdrug own brand skincare quite good and at least you don't have to worry about them getting rid of it after you've bought one.
I did really like the copy of the NARS concealer Aldi did a few years ago. I've had the original many times and don't think it's necessarily hugely similar to it other than the packaging and the fact its a good concealer, but as a concealer in it's own right, for the price, it was really nice and I'd happily repurchase.

I bought the eye and face serums yesterday. The suction pump things are awful. I think the poster above said it’s more the packaging than anything else. Superdrug’s own range is cheaper I think and I don’t get drawn into the hype.

I still didn't get the chance to go to Aldi. DH is going to town that has an Aldi store today.
I gave him clear instructions to look for the face serum and get me a bottle.
If he does remember to go to the store, I fully expect him to come back with a bottle of shampoo or loaf of bread. No way will he look properly for the serum which may well be sold out by now! Let's see...
