Keratin hair treatment - getting it wet

Hairdressers or anyone with experience. Had this above morning.

Told under no circumstances to tie up or get hair wet for 3 days. How on earth do you wash your face? HD said I could use a fabric headband tho. My makeup had been on since 7 and I just needed to get it off. washed my face pushing fringe back but couldn't really stop a tendril dropping over the sink so ended up with a soggy end of hair - about 2 inch worth.

Is this a disaster??

It's a pain but use a face cloth. Any hair that gets wet dry and straighten again

You could use a shower cap, and then hair won't get wet. Not sure what else you can do other than dry it straight

Did they definitely say 3 days? When I used to get keratin treatments I was just advised to wait 24 hours.

WalkinginNemphis2 · 14/03/2023 16:53

Yes @lemoncurdcrumpets I triple checked...as thought it sounded extreme! Said washing first thing Friday would be okay! Madness. I get really greasy rots so not sure I can last till Friday!

Clip the fringe back then run straighteners over it. (That's what I do)

Some keratin treatments can be washed after 24 hours, others 72 hours. If your hairdresser advised the latter, follow that.

For greasy roots, use dry shampoo.

Be sure to use sulfate-free shampoo when finally wash it, and going forward.
