I am looking for suggestions on what I can do with my hair. I have a habit of grabbing it back behind me in a ponytail most days.
This is a photo of me this morning (to give you an idea of length.

What would you suggest?

Please - no way out there suggestions. I need something that is practical and easy to do (I have no skills when it comes to doing hair, even my own)

Looks as though you have quite thick hair with some wave. Tell the hairdresser you don't do much with it and ask for a style you can wash and wear or rough dry. Difficult to tell because you've blocked your face out, but taking a few inches off the length and adding some longer layers and maybe even a fringe would work with your face shape.

I'm going to suggest avoid layers- although they are generally good for thick hair it looks like yours has a m8nd of its own, just like mine! Neither straight nor wavy and frizzy too. If you have no styling skills, again like me the layers are just going to sticks out.

If I were you I'd lop off to just below the shoulder and shape around the face but long enough to still tie it all back.

This comes from someone that can't blow dry hair- yes rough dry but then my hair is static and stands on end channeling Tina Turner in the 80s! I can just about tame it with straighteners but my style is then poker straight- can't do curls or flicks. If I manage to shape it at all it falls out due to the weight. Grrrrr🤦🏼‍♀️ 😂
