I just want a nice pair of Chelsea boots

Flat, black, nice and sleek rather than big fat chunky soles, ideally no more than £100. I've tried Office, Dune, M&S, John Lewis, even Clarks in a fit of desperation. Where have I missed? Or must I embrace the welly look?

Try Cos, Vagabond, Russel and Bromley or just google and try your luck!

Russel and Bromley

R&B for under £100?

bravelittletiger · 13/03/2023 15:17

Oh sorry yeah you've got no chance at R&B for £100. Their prices have gone bonkers these days!

I do love a chunky flat boot though OP if you can bring yourself to try them- they are ridiculously versatile and comfy.

Look online for jodhpur boots or paddock boots or short riding boots and buy from an equestrian / countrywear stockist. They'll do chunky wellies for the workers/walkers. Should find what you're looking for from about £40-£150 for black leather, less chunky than current Chelsea boots as they have to fit in a stirrup when you ride, and don't need a chunky grippy sole as you're ideally not going to be traipsing through the mud. I always wear mine as workwear boots before they become my riding boots. Current pair is Brogini Tivoli (I have a high instep so like zips too), although I may splash out on Ariat next as I know they're very comfortable.

I love Chelsea boots. When I get stuck, I buy an inexpensive pair from Deichmann.

Doc martens from Vinted?

I bought black DM Chelsea boots from eBay for £65. Have worn them almost every day for the last 6 months and they still look great. Versatile, go with loads of things and no chilly feet.
