Would this dress be ok for an outdoor summer wedding?

Coveted this dress for weeks now and just received a wedding invite for late June which is outdoors.

With the right accessories? Thinking wedges, bag to match and maybe a floral broach or hair piece?

I think it's lovely, really unusual.

crazeecatladee · 12/03/2023 12:07

Yes! It's lovely. Enjoy the day

BreakfastOfWaffles · 12/03/2023 12:10

Yes it's lovely and something you can wear again. I would go for a colourful wedge like yellow to go with it, but then again I do love a bit of colour!

MetaDaughter · 12/03/2023 12:26

Gorgeous dress - where’s it from?

I’d keep your accessories as bold and simple as possible - nothing dainty or the whole look will be too fussy. And limit the colours.

Wotwotwotwotwot · 12/03/2023 12:36

Ooh I love Meem label 😍 Definitely suitable 🙂

NatashaDancing · 12/03/2023 12:45

Yes, it's lovely. I think wedges which lace round the ankle would look good rather than heels.A dramatic large floral brooch would work too.

Usernameismyname01 · 12/03/2023 12:45

Great. And definitely bright bold accessories. Cerise / yellow/ royal blue / bright green

AdditionalCharacter · 12/03/2023 12:46

Fabulous!

love the idea of lace on the wedges @NatashaDancing

Thats gorgeous! Absolutely appropriate for a wedding, and as many have already said, choose bold colour accessories, go for a single colour if possible, cobalt, yellow or even barbie pink would be my personal go to!

NatashaDancing · 12/03/2023 12:57

Some idea here?

If you can put your hair up a dramatic floral brooch in your hair would look good, otherwise on the dress, but not both.

Black, red, pink, or bright yellow.

Gorgeous! Can I ask where it is from OP?

MyGreenBedspread · 12/03/2023 13:00

Really lovely! Have fun

Flamingmango · 12/03/2023 13:01

It's suitable and so lovely I went to look at it, don't want to be a naysayer but it's a shocker they call it seersucker in the description but it's 100% polyester. I won't be paying that much for a plastic dress.

I hadn’t heard of Meem before. Some wonderful designs - but I wish they’d taken the time to explain the choice of polyester for most things. As there’s nothing on the site suggesting it’s recycled fabric one can only assume it’s to keep prices down. Hard to say if that’s the correct decision. OP’s dress looks lovely. The midi dresses below really ought (to my mind!) to be wool. It doesn’t specify what the shorter dress is made of - one would expect either squishy cotton or some sort of felt.

I'm assuming it's to keep prices down. Making those dresses in cotton, silk, linen or even recycled polyester would be more expensive.

AdditionalCharacter · 12/03/2023 15:19

I've bought it. Hoping nearer the time I can find some nice wedges and matching bag. Not really anything summer like in the shops yet.

I like it, think you have made a good decision OP.

WildCherryBlossom · 12/03/2023 15:47

Office usually stocks a good range of wedge espadrilles in summer. Lots of colours as well as height options, some sort of colour pop would work.

strawberrysunrise · 12/03/2023 15:58

I really like it..it's got a very 80's/New Romantic vibe.

Yay! It's such a nice dress.

And you can get a nice cover up for the shoulders to match your bag and shoes too - a bold colour stole would look great.

I agree with those who have said yellow, cobalt or pink.

LookItsMeAgain · 12/03/2023 17:02

The dress is gorgeous. I love the handkerchief hem.

Would any of these shoes/sandals be suitable to wear with it do you think?

I've also eyed up that dress! Is it from
Wolf & Badger? With lovely accessories (I'd go for bright colours) it'll be perfect at a June wedding.

smileladiesplease · 12/03/2023 18:55

Lovely dress op

Pigtailsandall · 12/03/2023 19:08

Great dress. I also love the baggy street wear vibe of the shorter dresses and would be very tempted if they weren't polyester
