Hairstyle suggestions - choppy bob?

Hello, I've got long thick hair and I fancy a change. I don't want to cut it all off - I've got nice hair plus it hides my slightly chubby face. I really like the style pictured (and might go for the colour too) but I'm not sure how much is the cut and how much is day to day styling. A straight blow dry is my limit and I'm worried a bob could end up looking a bit prim, which isn't me. Any thoughts on this, or other suggestions for relaxed, low maintenance styles? Thanks.

I've got that cut but a bit shorter. I barely even bother to blow dry. The key I think is to ask the hairdresser to cut it blunt but then shatter the ends - or do whatever works for your hair- so your hair can 'do what it does naturally' ( can you tell I'm not a hairdresser). So for me I have a slight natural wave, so the cut let's my hair be wavy so I don't have to do anything to it. If it gets too long it gets a bit flat and boring. But I do love it and if I'm feeling posh I can give it curls with the straighteners.

I get mine really choppy and mess it up with hair putty stuff. It doesn't have the nice waves to it but it looks nicer than straight down
