How do you tuck your jumper in and look good?

I know this is a pretty trivial problem, but I keep seeing people everywhere tucking their sweaters/knits into their trousers and getting a little neat overhang or looking pulled together and smart. When I do this it makes me look so bulky round the waist and to the side I look huge! I’m not huge, I’m a size 8, so why is this happening? Am I missing something?

I think there’s a trick where you don’t actually tuck it into the trousers. Instead, put a belt on under the top then tuck the top up into the belt, leaving some overhanging. That’s how they do it on Insta anyway- not sure about real life.

I think you maybe need to be relatively tall, as well as slim, for the ‘tucked in’ look. I’m not short, but it doesn’t work for me either, mostly because I’m several sizes larger than you!

French tuck. You just tuck in a section at the middle front, maybe 5-6 inches wide. And only tuck in the bottom 2 inches of your top so the bit above kind of blousons out for a soft look. Takes a bit of primping to sit right. Definitely looks better with a belt.
