Roman Originals?

Have seen a really lovely very long open cardigan with large stars . Saw it on Facebook, googled and realised Next sell this brand.

Does anyone know what the quality is like? It is only £35… but still.

I use Roman for clothes. It's reasonable quality. I've never had a problem

Palm7rees · 07/03/2023 17:57

I mean the quality of the brand generally

Yes I like them too. Only just discovered them since I moved to a town with a branch. Dresses are really nice too and good customer service. Stuff also washes well.

I got some trousers from there and wear them a lot. They are really comfortable.

Beebumble2 · 07/03/2023 18:53

I’ve found them really good quality on the things I’ve bought. If you order direct they post for free, usually very quickly.

Palm7rees · 07/03/2023 18:56

Thanks! I think the cardigan in the size and colour I want is available directly

I just ordered a cardigan from them as they didn't have it in store. I was a bit iffy about the quality for the price but I think it's worth every penny, fits perfectly and took 3 days to arrive. I did get a bit of discount through Topcashback.

AliceTheeCamel · 07/03/2023 19:02

I've had a few bits from there, everything has been good quality.
Check the returns policy for going direct vs getting from Next (or Amazon), from memory the returns window was longer for Amazon and also free delivery?

mondaymorningagain · 07/03/2023 19:28

I don't think Next have a large selection of Roman Originals clothes anymore.

Palm7rees · 07/03/2023 20:35

Thanks- I’ve been looking for a fairly plain really long cardigan (no buttons) for a while. And the star one would go with so many of my clothes

I have that cardigan- got it from Silk Fred in 2021. Exactly the same.

Mykittensmittens · 07/03/2023 21:12

Also Roman have a ton of codes - and I’d generally say never buy full price as there is literally always an offer on.

they clearly have a diverse base of manufacturers. I have lots of work/smart/wedding guest type stuff from them and quality isn’t ever an issue.

more-so I find the reviews helpful and honest so if they speak well, that’s good.

I had a jersey swing dress for work. I’m 5ft3 and took a chance on the reviews saying the pockets are too low. Should have listened - pockets were almost at my knees and I couldn’t reach the bottoms! But their stretch trousers are fab for work.

Squishedstormtrooper · 07/03/2023 21:16

I love Roman clothes. Quality is always great. Always use a code though- they are a bit like dominos never pay full price. The only thing that I dislike is that the sizing can be a bit on the larger side and returns are a pain.

ginislife · 07/03/2023 21:19

@Mykittensmittens I think I must have the same dress ! The pockets are far too low down ! But in the whole Roman is good quality and value though can be a bit frumpy for some things. You can only get a credit note if you return anything so try on in the shop if this is an issue.

Mykittensmittens · 07/03/2023 21:57

@ginislife

is that right? I retuned said dress last week and had a full refund back to my card!

Palm7rees · 07/03/2023 22:00

Interesting about the discount codes! I’ll have a look.

Code LOVE took 20% off! And still free postage

99% of my work wardrobe is Roman. Great for quality, flattering fit, often non-iron. Exchanges and refunds have always been extremely easy and fast IME
