Smelly cashmere - what can be done?

I bought a cashmere jumper on eBay recently and it's in excellent condition but smells of very strong perfume. I've washed it once in wool detergent and it still reeks. I can't hang it outside as it's still too cold. Any idea how I can get rid of the smell?

Oh it's wet!

When it's dry, hang it outside before using any more detergent or anything else on it. A few hour outside in the fresh air should get most of the smell out.

Yes! When I said I'd washed it in wool detergent I meant I'd quite literally just washed it!! I'm going to keep it outside for a bit tomorrow too but kicking myself for not washing it last week when there was at least a little sunshine.

This sounds daft but it worked for me. Put it in a sealed bag or, preferably, a large tupperware box and put it in the fridge for 3-5 days. The bag or the box are essential because otherwise other veg etc in the fridge make pick up the perfume smell.

So the jumper spent most of Monday outdoors and it still smells! Especially around the neckline. I guess it's going to have to be a vinegar wash. I also used wool wash for it last week but am wondering if Bold or Ariel would be an option as they probably have stronger cleaning agents.
